Day To Night Christmas Party Hair Tutorial: Soft Waves To A Textured Bun
Hey M+B babes! To get you in the party spirit we’re going to share three gorgeous day to night Christmas party hairstyles over the next few weeks so that you’re totally covered for the party season. For the first look we’ve created some gorgeous loose waves that transition into a low textured bun for the night. So if you’ve got a super glamorous dress to wear or need your hair out of the way while you dance then this is going to be perfect for you...
The day look features our signature waves that we love wearing ALL the time and they’re a great way to style your extensions as they’ll give you a killer blend.
To start this look clip in your M+B hair extensions! Mim used the 16-18” Luxurious Set in the shade California for her waves. Next curl your hair from the nape of your neck towards the top of your head working in sections.
Continue the process for the rest of your hair and make sure to hold the curls in your hand to let them cool for a few seconds before letting them drop. This will give them way more staying power so they’ll last a lot longer.
After you’ve curled each section set the hair with some hairspray. We love the H&M Session Hairspray for curls because it’s super lightweight and smells amazing.
Once you’ve finished curling your hair leave it to cool for 5-10 minutes, this also helps your style to last longer as it sets the hair in place.
Using a loop brush gently brush out the curls working from the ends of your hair upwards to create the loose waves. You need to keep brushing your hair until you get a soft, uniform wave which may take a few goes but it’ll be totally worth it.
And you’re done! This look is a super casual daytime look that’s perfect for any hair length. If you don’t have a lot of time in the morning you could also curl your hair extensions the night before, just don’t brush them out until they’re clipped in.
To make the most of our textured waves we’re going to transition them into a super cute updo that makes the most of all that extra texture.
For the night look start by smoothing your hair back into your hand and make sure to try and remove any flyaways to get it super neat.
Once your hair looks smooth use an elastic to secure it in a low pony.
On the last pull through of your pony leave your hair in a loop to create the bun. You’ll also need to leave a long enough tail to wrap around the elastic.
Next twist the loose hair around the hair elastic and pin it in place with some bobby pins. Take care not to pin this too tight so that your hair still looks super thick and textured.
That’s it! This is such a gorgeous look and something a little bit different that will help you to stand out this season. We also love that it’s made use of all that added texture from the curls.
