So… What’s the Difference Between Stitched and Seamless Hair Extensions?
Before you decide which will work best for you, you need to know the main differences between stitched and seamless clip-ins.
Stitched wefts follow the traditional structure of clip-in extensions, made by sewing the hair onto a piece of durable fabric.
Seamless clip-ins are made by bonding the hair in silicone, rather than being sewn. This creates a flat weft that is completely smooth and thinner than stitched wefts.
Still unsure which is right for you? We answer all your most popular questions below.
Stitched vs Seamless Extensions – Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the Best Option for Fine Hair?
Seamless hair extensions are easier to conceal as they lay flat to your head - which is why our customers with fine hair love them. They’re also comfortable to wear and super lightweight, so they won’t weigh down your locks.
Classic stitched wefts also work well in fine hair, though. They help to add volume to your roots as they don’t lay as flat, which can be beneficial if you feel your locks are a little lacklustre.
Can You Wear Seamless Hair Extensions if You Have Thick Hair?
Although the roots of seamless wefts are thinner than stitched wefts, the overall set is thick. So, you can still wear them if you have thicker hair.
But if your hair is really thick, or if you have a blunt haircut, you might want to choose our Luxurious Set to get the best blend.
This is our thickest set, with an extra quad weft, meaning there are four layers of hair on each weft to achieve effortless volume.
Are the Clips Different on the Stitched and Seamless Wefts?
The clips used on stitched and seamless clip-ons are the same.
Our clips are made with silicone to guarantee a tight grip – and have a rubber backing that prevents them from slipping.
They’re also slightly curved and super lightweight for a comfortable fit.
Which Is the Best Option for Dyeing?
If you need to custom dye your hair extensions, we’d recommend going for the stitched wefts over seamless.
It’s difficult for dye to penetrate the seamless, silicone weft at the top of the extensions. You can combat this with some root touch-up spray, but using stitched clip-ons is the easiest choice.
Or you can simply Shade Match your new extensions to pre-dyed hair for a perfect blend.
What’s Are the Best Extensions For a First Timer?
Both stitched and seamless extensions work in the same way. They’re both clip-ins and are super easy to apply.
Which one you go for will depend more on your hair type and length, as well as personal preference.

Why Are the Seamless Wefts Stripy?
Some highlighted shades can look quite stripy at the top of the wefts. This is simply because of the way seamless hair extensions are made.
Once these highlighted extensions are clipped in, they blend just as well as stitched wefts.
Do Either of These Products Shed?
Stitched wefts can be more prone to shedding than seamless wefts, as the lace wefts aren’t bonded into silicone.
Our stitched wefts are durable and have minimal shedding, though. So, this isn’t a major concern when choosing between stitched and seamless.
