We all start fitting our hair extensions at the nape of our neck and some of us have long hair already however most of us wear longer hair extensions, which means we can see the short bits of our own hair peeping out at the bottom. To stop these pesky little bits from making an appearance, before fitting your weft, section off your hair at the bottom and swirl this around your finger and pin into place with some bobby pins. Then all you simply need to do is clip your weft on top!

Do you have super fine hair and find that your hair extensions appear to be slipping out throughout the day? If so, backcombing is a must. This will give your hair extensions a helpful boost of texture to hang on to! Backcombing is super easy too. All you need to do is grab a backcombing brush and gently tease your roots. Add a spritz of hairspray for added grip and then you’re ready to fit your hair extensions. Backcombing not only gives added grip and texture but it also helps disguise clips and the line of the wefts, too! So, for that extra volume (and coverage) you need to cover your clips, all you need to do is backcomb the underneath of the top layer of your hair.

When fitting your hair extensions make sure you are clipping the extensions as close as possible to each other. This will leave you with a seamless finish and if you have short hair, it will stop the shorter hairs from peeping out in between the wefts, too!

So if you have short hair and/or layers you may be finding it a little difficult to make the extensions look natural around your face. To make the hair extensions appear more natural, clip the wefts on an angle when fitting them. This will soften up your look, making the extensions appear much more natural. Remember to tilt your wefts back when fitting them instead of clipping these in super straight. This will give you a more feathered and less blunt look. Easy! Lastly, it’s all about blending! To perfectly blend your hair and your hair extensions it’s worthwhile to straighten your own hair in to the hair extensions. So once you have fitted your hair extensions, straighten your hair and hair extensions together. Once this has been done leave your hair to cool for about five to ten minutes then you’re ready to style as you wish, curls, waves etc. Whatever style you choose this is the ultimate hair extension trick and you’ll soon see your hair extensions blend seamlessly into your own hair for a gorgeous natural finish.
