DIY Shampoo & Conditioner Bars

diy-conditioner-bars-main-imagePackaging is OUT! Seriously, unless you’ve been living under a rock then you’ll be aware that everyone is trying their best to use less. Less packaging, less of the harmful ingredients and less waste. With 120 billion units of plastic packaging going into landfill every year, it figures that changes need to be made. Here at M+B we’re no different and have been thinking of fun ways to make our hair routines a little more sustainable.

One of the more planet-friendly products we love are shampoo and conditioner bars. They’re your everyday hair heroes in solid form, that don’t require a plastic bottle but still pack a hair punch. Inspired by the ones we use at home we’ve decided to create our own using some simple ingredients that are amazing for your hair. Let’s go...

Step 3

Add 20 drops of peppermint essential oil into the mixture, this is great for stimulating your hair follicles to promote hair growth. You can then add 20 drops of lavender essential oil, this also stimulates hair growth and will give your shampoo bar a really relaxing scent. Once all your ingredients are in the bowl you want to mix it thoroughly until there are no lumps. If you need to, you can pop it back in the microwave in 30-second intervals to melt the soap.
