5 Quick Christmas Day Hairstyles
Christmas Day isn’t for wasting time getting ready but you definitely want to look your best and feel good, right? Especially if your mum takes loads of pics or if you need to brag about your dinner on insta stories... That’s why you need some quick hairstyles that are easy to put together so that you’ve got all the time for celebrating. Here are our 5 faves...
Christmas Day Hairstyle 1: Super Chunky Braid
This gorgeous braid is really simple and easy but with a cute hair accessory it’ll look really impressive! It’s also perfect if your hair extensions are already curled as it’ll make the most of the extra texture and volume.
How To: Start by clipping in your M+B hair extensions as normal then clip up two small sections, one either side of your face, up and out of the way. You will then be left with a large section towards the back which you can split into three. Start french braiding this from the nape of your neck. You want to finish the braid two thirds of the way down your hair rather than at the end for this look. Once you’re done secure it with a hair elastic and pinch and pull on the braid to thicken it up. Now you can take your front sections and wrap them around. Start with the left side and wrap it around the top of the braid before pinning it in place with some bobby pins. You can then repeat the process on the other side to create the crossover effect and pin this in place too. Once you’re done finish the look with some hairspray and add an accessory if you want to. We love this pink bow but it would look just as dreamy without it.
Christmas Day Hairstyle 2: French Twist Pony
This gorgeous pony is surprisingly simple and shouldn’t take you any longer than 5 minutes to create. It also looks amazing with really long hair so if your M+B set is 16-18” or longer it would be perfect.
How To: To create this look pull your hair back into a ponytail and hold it in one hand. You want this to sit in the middle of your head at the back but not too high. Next twist the pony tail towards your head and keep twisting until you create the wrap effect. Once you have the right shape you can hold the hair with one hand and use some bobby pins to secure it in place. You need the bobby pins to go all the way down the twist so that it’s really secure. Once you’re done pinning you can use a bungee to secure the rest of your hair in a low pony. Next curl the ends of your hair in loose waves using a curling wand to create more texture and volume. Once you’re done finish the look with some hairspray and a ribbon if you want to.
Christmas Day Hairstyle 3: Textured Halo Braid
This gorgeous look is perfect if you don’t want to heat style your hair and it’ll literally take 5 minutes to put together. It also looks amazing with some big earrings to give it a really Christmassy vibe.
How To: Start by parting your hair down the middle and clip one side up out of the way. If you want to use your M+B hair extensions for this look you can use four two-clip wefts with two on either side so that they’re not visible at the back. Once your wefts are clipped in on one side you can then french braid the hair from the nape of your neck and secure it at the end with a hair elastic. Once you’re done repeat the process on the other side and then lay the braid up the side of your head and pin it in place. You can then repeat with your other braid and pin everything in place. To hide the ends just tuck them underneath and secure them in place with bobby pins. You can then pinch and pull on your braid to thicken it up and add some extra texture, you’re done!
Christmas Day Hairstyle 4: Half Up Half Down Braid
This is one of the more complicated looks on our list but it’s still really quick and will make the most of your hair extensions!
How To: Start by clipping in your M+B hair extensions as normal to add loads of thickness to your locks. Next take a section at the back of your head and create a small, loose pony using a hair elastic. You then want to split this pony into two sections above the elastic and twist the end of the pony through the gap twice to create the twist effect. Once you’re done you need to repeat this process with another section to create a second twist underneath the first. Next combine the ends of both twists and create a fishtail braid. Secure this with a hair elastic and loop the end so it’s really neat. If you need to you can loosely curl the rest of your hair or just add some texturising spray to give it extra volume. To finish your look tie a ribbon around the top of your braid and you’re done!
Christmas Day Hairstyle 5: Twisted Updo
This looks complicated but it’s actually really easy and would be amazing with a glam dress if you’re going all out with your Christmas look.
How To: Start by clipping in your hair extensions and then sweep your hair back into a low pony leaving out some face framing pieces. Next take small sections of your pony and twist them into tight swirls. You can then bobby pin these around your pony to create the updo. Keep going until all your hair is pinned up and then finish the look with some cute hair accessories. You’re done!
