Disney Channel Icons: Get the Look

Let's be real, we're all still in our 2000’s Disney Channel kid era.

Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place and That’s So Raven are all shows from our childhood that were so iconic - and still are. But just as iconic as the shows, is their huge archive of Y2K looks (No one will ever beat Sharpay Evans laid out on that sunbed in HSM 2 BTW).

Ready to take a trip back to the noughties? Take a look at some of our favourite Disney Channel looks of the time and learn how to easily replicate them at home.

Alex Russo

Alex Russo // Disney

NYC fashionista and magic maestro, could Alex Russo get any cooler? From working at her family’s restaurant to casting invisibility spells, the wizard paired her boho-chic style with some ultra-cute hair looks. Alex preps for potions class by dressing up a bouncy blowdry with a super classy hairband.

Get the look by clipping in some volumising extensions in Chocolate Brown to level up your locks. Turn your hairdryer onto the hottest setting and use a barrel brush to gently curl the ends of your hair inwards (don’t skip the heat protectant). Finish by spritzing with some hairspray and popping on a simple hairband and voila!

Sharpay Evans

Sharpay Evans // Disney

She’s an icon, she’s a legend and she IS the moment. Sharpay Evans, iconic for her out-of-pocket sass and McBling aesthetic, wears her hair in these fabulous loose waves for her dip in the pool at the Lava Springs country club.

To get the look, start by side parting your hair before using a large barrel styling tool to create some loose curls all over. Need bigger and better and best? Clip in a Quad set in Light Sandy Blonde to amplify your length and volume and give your look some more drama - if Sharpay could possibly have any more drama…

London Tipton

London Tipton // Disney

Serving nepo-baby realness since 2005, London Tipton is the designer princess that we all wanted (still want) to be. It was hard to choose specific favourites, but we’re absolutely OBSESSED with this spiky space bun look.

Replicate this at home by sectioning your hair into two halves and tying them into pigtails. Twist each side into a bun (the messier the better) and leave the ends sticking out slightly before securing with hair ties. Adjust your spiky bits to your liking and finish with a spritz of hairspray to ensure your look stays secure from day to night.

Hannah Montana

Hannah Montana // Disney

It's official: Hannah Montana was the reason we all grew up wanting to be a pop princess. I mean, who wouldn't want to be a secret superstar with a walk-in wardrobe the size of a small shopping mall? Transforming Miley to Hannah, her famous blonde wig disguise was IT.

Who said (who said) you can’t get her look at home? Clip in a few luxe extensions in the shade Medium Blonde Highlighted to add some glam and secure a section from the crown of your head out of the way with a clip. Take two large pieces from the front of each side of your head and secure with a hairtie at the back of your head. To complete the look, unclip that top section and straighten your tresses for a sleek, glossy finish.

Lizzie McGuire

Lizzie McGuire // Disney

One of the Disney Channel OG’s, Lizzie McGuire is the pinnacle of Y2K fashion and this doesn’t stop at just her outfits. Seen wearing spiky buns, crimped hair and funky hair accessories, Lizzie is officially the queen of 2000’s looks.

Get the look that dreams are made of in just minutes. To achieve waves like Lizzie’s, use your favourite waver tool to create some beachy texture around your head. Weave a few random sections of hair into braids before securing the ends with a touch of hair gel to ensure they last all day - super chic!
