How to Create Voluminous Waves with the GHD Curve Soft Curl Tong

So before we get started on the voluminous waves tutorial, we thought we'd let you in on all there is to know about the GHD Curve Soft Curl Tong. Thanks to its large 32mm barrel, it's perfect for creating big, bouncy curls and waves - with plenty of volume at the roots! It's actually a slightly larger version of the GHD Curve Classic Curl Tong, which has a 26mm barrel (this one is ideal for styling up classic, consistent curls - and it's also good for girls with shorter hair, too). Just like the rest of the GHD Curve range, the GHD Curve Soft Curl Tong also features a protective cool tip so that you don't burn yourself while styling, AND an automatic sleep mode that kicks in after 30 minutes without use. It's basically one of the most lustworthy heated styling tools around!

Okay - so let's begin the voluminous waves tutorial...

Step One

The first step in our voluminous waves how-to featuring the covetable GHD Curve Soft Curl Tong is to section your hair into a top and bottom section. Clip the top section up and away for now.

Step Two

Take the section of hair nearest your face and flat-wrap it around the GHD Curve Soft Curl Tong, holding the tong horizontally. For lashings of body and lift, roll the tong towards your roots and hold in place for roughly 5-8 seconds - the thicker your hair, the longer you'll need to curl for!

Step Three

Continue to divide hair into small sections and use the above technique to create big, bouncy curls. Carry on until you've finished curling the lower section of hair.

Step Four

Take down your top section of hair and proceed to curl your locks in exactly the same way as outlined above. When you've finished creating your tumbling curls, lightly brush them through with a hairbrush - and be sure not to kill the volume!
