Tried & Tested: Head and Shoulders

head-and-shoulders-main Here at M+B we’re pretty obsessed with hair care so it figures that as a team we try out a lot of new products. To make us feel better about our groaning bathroom cabinets we thought it would be cool to share some of the things we’ve found as part of a new series. We’re calling it Tried & Tested and the plan is to give you honest reviews on some of the weirdest and most hyped products out there. This month we’re trying out an old faithful hair product, the Head & Shoulders shampoo and conditioner, which has been around since forever and is still a cult classic. We got the idea after Glamour beauty editor Maureen Choi declared her love for the budget duo in her column. As someone who has access to literally every beauty product on the planet we thought they’d definitely be worth testing out. Here’s what we thought...   It claims to: Head & Shoulders is known as an anti-dandruff shampoo and it claims to totally clear your scalp and leave it 100% flake free. Rhian went for the Smooth & Silky version for this test which claims to intensely nourish your scalp and hair to leave it looking really smooth and healthy. The shampoo also includes their scent burst technology that keeps your hair smelling fresher for longer. Price: £4.99 each

What Rhian Thought...

“I love this product, my hair has never felt or looked healthier! After seeing so many adverts about Head and Shoulders shampoo and conditioner, especially the Claudia Winkleman one, I thought right, I have to try this. I bought the shampoo and conditioner for about £5 each in my local supermarket which was a saving on my last purchase, so I was really happy about that. I've almost used the bottle now and I will 100% purchase it again, I am so impressed with it. With previous products I've always struggled with frizzy, knotty hair after a few washes and I felt as though they stripped my hair from its natural oils. Head and Shoulders on the other hand has worked miracles on my hair. It's silky, I have hardly any frizziness, it’s smooth, shiny, and above all looks really healthy. I feel as though it really nourishes my hair. In the past it would honestly take me hours to work it into a style because it was so unruly but I can dry and style my hair with ease now. It's saved me so much money and time. The only negative thing I would say is that I felt I needed to use a lot of shampoo to really give my hair and scalp a good clean. But that's a minor issue really.” As much as we’re a sucker for new products maybe it’s true that the classics are the best and just like how we keep going back to Batiste Dry Shampoo maybe it’ll be the same with Head & Shoulders. At such an affordable price it’s definitely worth it too, especially if you’re struggling to beat the flakes!
